Who Is Doris Fitzgerald?
You have a right to know a little more about me if I expect you to trust me. I have probably made every financial mistake possible. Fortunately, I also overcame those mistakes. Back in the day, I was high school drop out, divorced single mom on food stamps, barely making it from one month to the next. The only thing I had back then was my faith in God, and you know what, He took care of me! Now, I'm a Bible College graduate and successful business woman. I've got two wonderful adult children, and am married to a man who loves me. But it didn't happen over night. I had to learn some important Biblical principles about finances (and life) along the way.
As a home mortgage consultant, I've had the opportunity to help hundreds of people buy their own homes, or refinance their current homes. Over the last ten years I've seen people from every walk of life under all sorts of financial burdens, and I've discovered a very important principle: It doesn't really matter how much you make if you can't keep some of it. I've counseled people making over $100,000 a year who couldn't pay their bills every month. I've seen financial worries destroy marriages and break up families. And I've got to do something to help. That's what this site is all about, helping families overcome their financial mistakes, and go on to financial health and freedom. I even wrote a book containing over 135 money saving tips to help families keep more of what they earn. It's called How to Keep More of What You Make, and its available right here. God wants us to be financially responsible, and to use wisdom in all of our purchases, no matter how small. I believe it is my mission in life to help people discover ways to become financially wise.
